Port-au-Prince Presidential Palace

Photographed through the perimeter fence, this is the Presidential Palace in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, following the earthquake in January 2010. The second floor of the building collapsed down into the first floor of the building. If you turned around from this position, you would see a sprawling, makeshift tent city for just some of the many Haitians who became homeless following this tragedy.

This is the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, photographed from the Niagara Fallsview Hotel, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. The boat coming out of the foam at the bottom is one of the vessels of the Maid of the Mist, a naval sightseeing operation that brings visitors, as you can see, up close to the massive waterfall.

Spanish Olympic Stadium

This is an entrance to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys (formerly Barcelona Olympic Stadium) in Barcelona, Catalonia, Kingdom of Spain. The photographer was actually angry after this, because he was on a quickly-moving tour bus that didn't stop, or even slow down at all, and his immediate thought was that he had missed this shot. It wasn't until he reviewed the photo that he was pleased with its seemingly perfect timing.
